I’ve discovered countless times, that may people don’t like the word sell, but ironically, everyone of us sell something directly or indirectly. We sell out ideas, visions etc to people. We don’t just sell products or services, we also sell ourselves. And the ability to be able to sell yourself well will determine how far you go in life. Much more as a business person, the core of the survival of your business is how well you get people to believe in your product so much they buy from you as against other competitors. And it’s my pleasure to show you the 7 ways to sell your products or services to People even if you are shy.
So How do you get to sell to people effectively ?
1. Do your homework of researching .
Many times, as a business owner or a seller that wants to succeed in selling his ot her product, before you go on and attempt to sell anything to anyone, you must first do your home work.
You need to know what the product is all about. Take time to conduct a product research on the product or services. There are certain questions you need to ask yourself before selling your product or services. If these questions are not properly answered then you will find it extremely difficult to sell anything to anyone. So do your home work and find what the product or service is designed to solve. After doing this, it will lead you to the next thing in our line of discourse.

2. Understand your customers needs
Here is one thing, I’ve discovered over the years in the world of Business, if your product is not designed to meet a need or a want, no matter how good your product or service is, your efforts will look like putting a square peg on a round hole. Understanding your product and service will give you insights into what kind of people will benefit from your products.
It’s such insights that will give you the leverage to connect with them emotionally to get your product. I’ve discovered something people buy emotionally and justify their decision logically.
3. Sell yourself (people buy you before buying what you sell).
In the world of business and generally sociologically, people won’t have anything lasting and meaningful to do with you unless they know you, trust you and like you. This three factors are called the KLT FACTOR. As an individual you must be intentional in getting people to know, like and trust you. And to get to that point, there are many things you have to do, but for the sake of this article, I will give this few salient but important points.

i) You must be good at what you do. When you are good at something, an activity , a skill and you display such, people will get to know you for something.
ii) Then in addition to People knowing you, you must learn to give value to people from the depth of your talents and skills for free. The implication of this is that, people will get to like you because you are positioning yourself as someone that wants to help them. free Value can be a free training on how to do certain things, or an information that will enhance the quality of their lives etc. Over time, when you do this, people get to like you.
iii) Then when like is sustained, unconsciously people who know you, like will now begin to trust you. It’s at that point that it will be easy to sell to them, because they will see you as someone not just after their money but their welfare.
4. Know your audience
You may need to sit down and put yourself in the shoes of your prospective customers. Ask yourself what will make me want to buy this my product. What are the factors, the pinpoints that will make me willing to path away with my money to buy or subscribe to this product. There are certain strategic questions to ask, but it won’t be in this article.
5 Ask questions
Sometimes in the quest to knowing your audience, if you happen to come in contact with a potential prospects, before shoving down your product down their throats, you will need to ask them what they want, what they hope to get from the products. Their expectations and their desires should be properly expressed, that way you be able to connect well with the prospect and also know how to sell better.
6. See yourself first as a recommender than a seller.
One thing you may have discovered or will yet to discover is that people don’t like to be sold to. They want to see themselves as the victim of your sales presentation. Researchers have said that from the ages of 5, we develop what we call sales resistance. So to be able to overcome that obstacles, you must present yourself as someone recommending a solution, not selling a product or service. Let them see you as a problem solver and it will be easy to be able to get them to buy from you.

7. Learn how to close sale
The problem with many business owners is that they think talking about a product or service in itself will automatically translate into sales. No no. After every sales presentation or discourse, you must be bold enough to tell them to talk the decision and buy or subscribe to your products. As a sales person you must learn how to close sales intelligently.
